Role of the Program Development and Reporting Officer:
The Program Development and Reporting Officer is responsible for developing proposals, concept notes and other applications for funding, as well as supporting grant amendment applications. The Program Development and Reporting Officer will also support fundraising efforts. The Program Development and Reporting Officer will track and monitor SEED priorities and propose and develop programs in line with these priorities.
Specific Tasks:
Program Development
- Proactively identify new funding opportunities by monitoring and analyzing donor strategies, funding trends and calls for proposals.
- Contribute to the decision-making process for potential opportunities, by analyzing and presenting key factors for consideration.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform program design and development, including assessments of the context and needs.
- Lead the design and development of concept notes and proposals, ensuring that design is realistic and feasible.
- Lead the coordination process of developing concept notes and proposals, including outlining and communicating clear roles and responsibilities and timelines for each department’s input, coordinate inputs from other drafters and reviewers, and facilitate effective cross-departmental coordination for the development of concept notes and proposals.
- Act as the lead drafter and edit all inputs for a cohesive final product.
- Lead development with potential sub-grantees, including roles and responsibility, proposal documents and budget.
- Ensure all proposals and concept notes adhere to donor guidance, are of high quality, and are submitted on time.
- Attend meetings and provide updates to other team members on the development of funding applications and potential new partnerships.
- Coordinate closely with other members of the team to ensure effective and efficient planning for program launch.
- Support SEED’s fundraising efforts by contributing to the development of content for a range of different fundraising materials and donor communications.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential donors.
- Track private donations and ensure timely communication with private donors.
- Support reporting as required.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Programs.
Essential criteria:
- Exceptional English writing and editing skills required.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop effective programs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work across teams to achieve common objectives.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
- Two years of NGO experience, including at least one year in a similar role.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in the GBV/Protection/Child Protection/MHPSS sectors.
